As a gamer, I've never really had a problem with DRM. And to be honest, I haven't really looked into what it is about DRM that really gets up people's noses - until now. After reading [URL=http://computer.howstuffworks.com/drm6.htm]this[/URL] really informative article all about the different aspects of what DRM is, how it works and controversies surrounding its implementation, I started thinking about why so many people dislike it and pondered about my own views.
So basically if you're the type of person that wants to make lots of illegitimate copies of a game and distribute it, you're screwed because DRM aims to stop people like you in their tracks. OK, that seems perfectly fine. But if you're a consumer who has just purchased a game and you want to make this game accessible in more than one (or in some instances two) places, you can't because the DRM technology included in the games' install files won't let you.
