[I]To millions of fans around the globe, actor Mark Hamill will forever be remembered as Luke Skywalker. To younger generations, he’s also known as the voice behind The Joker in the animated “Batman” TV series – a role he reprised for Eidos’ recent hit game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Hamill has quietly made a living in the voice acting business, breathing life into popular animated kids’ show characters like “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Justice League”. He’s also remained active in the videogame space, having worked on games like The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and Call of Duty 2. His latest game is THQ’s Darkriders. Hamill talks about his own videogame background and how far game technology has come in this exclusive interview.

Can you talk about your involvement in videogames over the years?
The first one that I really worked on that made an impression on me was Wing Commander because we did live action and I was so fascinated. (Game designer) Chris Roberts sat me down and talked to me about the idea of this game. It was almost like an interactive movie. It’s very schizophrenic to me because there were different outcomes for every situation depending on the player. It’s such a leap of faith in terms of putting your performance in the hands of the director and the writers in a way you never would in live action.
