It's been well over a year that I have been watching for postings for a accounting/finance position in the video game industry and they seem sparse. When I do see positions in this area, they are all for senior positions.
My question is, would it be hard for me to find an entry-level position in this field with a video game company? I am currently finishing up my Bachelors of Commerce degree, and I would like to start my career in the video game industry because I would like to work in this industry long-term, and starting sooner than later would be beneficial.
As well, every posting I see also requires experience in the relevant industry, but I do not see how one could get experience if they do not hire recent graduates (in the accounting/finance field) to begin with.
Is there some sort of resource I could use to better help my chances? As of right now, I am completely confused. I have no idea how it is possible to get an accounting or finance job once I graduate. Could anyone offer some advice?
