Hi everyone.
I live in Puerto Rico and for over 16 years video games here were always overpriced. We didn't pay taxes for the things we bought here in Puerto Rico, but that just gave retailers the excuse, along with the money they spent bringing supplies here, to up the prices of their products. It wasn't until a few years ago that these prices started to match those of the mainland U.S., yet people thought we paid less due to the fact that we didn't pay the tax charge on products like video games. Of course, this also changed a few years back when a law to charge tax came to effect and we got stuck paying a whopping 7% on almost everything we bought. Our economy is busted, the government is always broke, jobs are dying, and they expect us to pay an extra 7% on overpriced electronics like plasma/lcd tvs, computers, and entertainment.
Well, screw that!!! I'm a consumer, not a slave to the mass market. Our inability to do something about this makes us vulnerable to what is imposed on us and that ain't fair.
But enough about that. Greetings from Puerto Rico, the Island of Enchantment...or so it was.
Peace, my friends.:D
P.S. Can't believe I just spit all that out here, in an introduction thread. My bad. I feel better, though.
