So, I'm torn between two potential network gateways. Currently I use www.clarkconnect.com Clarkconnect linux version 4.3 and today am upgrading to 5.0 RC1.
But I also have access to a license of windows server 2008 standard courtesy of www.dreamspark.com
Clarkconnect comes out of the box fully ready to go with only about 15 minutes of configuration. I've never worked with a windows server OS. My primary fear with it is I don't know how to harden the internet facing side.
Hyper-V, however, is very tempting. if I go with server 2008 I will eventually have a quad core system with IOMMU (when it gets out and rolling this summer) running many virtual machines. I may go as far as to do a headless/crap video card core i7 system, after I upgrade my main rig, as all x58 boards have IOMMU enabled. (Core i5/LGA 1158 boards probably will not have IOMMU or other virtualization extensions)
What all do you guys run, and does anyone here have experience with server 2008? :D
