I have been musing on profit’s lately with my profit rights musing I talk about how “protecting” distribution is a antiquated model, instead of focusing on distribution that damns fan made and home recorded broadcasts focus instead on the profit derived from protected works this would give industry far better footing to protect themselves on rather than hounding and harassing the consumer that’s using products made by the industry to “slight” the industry with.

So instead of taxing income, “tax profit”. Goods and services would be taxed and the banking system and Ccard systems would be used to ensure tax is doled out correctly on most transactions with a simplified tax form for business to fill out oh and if you merely work and gain a income from a job you don’t have to file, you never have to file unless government wants to run a stimulus so they can check to see if everything is on the up and up.

It would be a 35 or 45% sales tax and state and local would be on this system it breaks down to 16-2X% for fed, 6-1X% for state and 3-X% for cities .

Everything from that region would be taxed from sales of service to purchases on the internet, the transaction of money itself for trade of goods or service would be taxed. Those that are found to circumvent taxation will have their income monitored and tax applied to their accounts in a style of forced auditing.

Now here’s the important thing no more property taxes or income tax no more fooling with paper work for either. You’ll ask but where do they get money from? Well….the Water Company, the electric company, the Cable company the internet service provider all of these house hold services are now taxable as well as their maintenance with all these fees coming in plus regulatory fees you do not need to burden the population with questionable land taxes who’s only real value is to steal land from the people it rapes.

Local municipalities would raise fees on services they regulate as well as add fees for building new buildings as well as inspection services they provide all this to do away taxing property directly but with all goods and non profit services being taxed there will be plenty of money to go around.

This system could also tax vehicles instead of taxing gas/property directly this tax would be 0.1 for every decade of age at a cap of 4 decades based on the vehicles blue book MSRP a year, with a cap of 50 grand that is taxable. A 60 grand classic car from 4 decades ago would net about 200 a year. A brand new 80K customized mussel car only a mere 50 a year in 4 decades it would be 200$. A 20K sedan would be 20 a year and so on with a max of 50K a year for any vehicle.
Now I do realize that this might hurt car enthusiasts so we will do 2 things to make this process better starting with miles per gallon. For cars and trucks that get more than 38 MPG cars/trucks 200MPG or more for Motor Bikes/trikes, ect pays half of the going rate right off the bat this is to drive sales of gas smart vehicles battery based vehicles and hybrids do not count unless the batteries and systems can last 5 or more years before needing to be replaced.

For non standard vehicles like classics and muscle cars you can apply for “off road” status that gets you a lock on the price of 50$ a year. The tags clearly show they are off road tags, this allows for up to 10 miles of street legal activity from either your home or trailer for the vehicle. One can also use these tags to drive the vehicle normally but if you are far from your home or the vehicles trailer any fines gained from misuse of the vehicle will be doubled as much as 3 times, 30% of which sent to the state.

Service class/commercial class vehicles fall into 2 categories, sub 100K are similar to the normal car tax above only halved in price the decade stack is also halved, over 100K they have a 0.02 tax on them, that’s roughly 20$ tax for every 100K of the vehicles worth caped at 1 million.

With this taxed you would not need to replace tags so often in fact as long as you pay the tax the tag is valid no more fiddling with replacing tags or stickers, the system could be adjusted to send out notifications of lost or suspensions of tags due to misuse of vehicles or crimes.

There are many and more ways to refine the process of regulation, governmental service(tags,ids,ect) and tax all in one swift motion for instance your drivers ID can also be handled by the vehicle tags system as long as you are approved by a authorized source you can get your tags and ID sent to you, only if you are a bad driver will you lose them and need to be re authorized to drive.

Moving back to taxing profit let’s look at the business aspect of it if you own vehicles that need have street legal tags there’s money spent, if you buy widgets to make widgets there’s added cost no property tax if you own your property but there’s a extra cost to buying it. If you sell products that’s more money lost to the machine but no more complicated tax forms, less lawyers to deal with no loopholes but on the average you’ll be paying less to the government so you can sell more goods and hire more people and more taxes are paid in the process on a larger scale, think if you will “trickle out” economics IE good solid business grow no matter where it is.

And as a bonus you can X2-X10 the tax coming in from business that offshore their work force be it corporate staff or manufacturing as a way to foster growth in country depending on the who,what where this may or may not wind up being about what they are spending on taxes now but under the new system they would have to spend less on taxes if they are US workforce inclined.

Services would be hit with the same tax their rates would go up to match the increase. Net sales will be taxed there is no real way around it all I can hope is states will lessen their restrictions on alcohol and other things to allow people to buy stuff so taxes are paid.

For booze a simple system would be a carrier authorization number, you go to the site make your purchase they give you a downloadable recite and the carriers link, you go to your local government web site put in the recite and are given a number that is logged to your address, you take that number to the carriers web site and put in it they take the number verify it and the carrier is completely exempt from legal issues from delivery of the package. I can imagine a nationwide system states can get on that will make this process simple and effective on and if you are a dry county/region all the taxes made from liquor sales go to the state.

Yard sales could be exempt some local municipalities might create a individual yard sale permit for 25$ you have 90 days to sale your stuff. Larger yard sale fares and flea markets will be completely exempt as they are generating local revenue and the taxes that are made from it.
Second hand sales may be exempt but a sale is a sale so unless you are a nonprofit you have to pay taxes on the sale.. it might be crappy but its beats the income tax malarkey of a shellgame by a mile..

I would hope the bureaucracy would change I would hope it would be halved and you have something akin to social workers keeping track of persons, places and data and more revenuers on the street looking places that are slighting the new system, hell put both active and retired law enforcement and army people to work on commission of successful finds and fine them if they are abusive.

In the end our current tax system is nothing more than a shellgame for lawyers and the government to make money off the majority of the population to by cocaine with…… would be better if they dropped the shell game and just come out they have a habit…. I’d be more apt to support them then…
