Amongst some GP readers, this is obviously a very ah.. divisive issue. I also think that discussion on this subject has been thus far fragmented. I personally see it as one of the big issues the industry is going to have to overcome in the next few years.

So what the hell lets have nice, focused discussion on these 3 highly interconnected issues.

Lets try to follow some ground rules.

Personally I think piracy is a good place to start. I'll try to have a well though out post based on the article that showed up on GP today up in an hour or two. If that lasts I guess we can go from there.

I would also like to propose a dead horse mechanism. If a significant number of the discussion participants post a post with the words "dead horse", we end the discussion. Depending on how quickly this happens we either start a new discussion in the current thread or start a new one.
