I posted about this in my [URL=http://legalplay.typepad.com/blog/2008/03/the-warhammer-n.html]blog[/URL], but I'm interested in getting some feedback on how people feel about using NDAs in beta testing. On the one hand, Mythic may argue that they have an interest in keeping the game design, mechanics, etc. under wraps until it's a bit more of a finished product. But with selective beta testing, a fairly threatening NDA, and one scratched Beta test I'm wondering why they'd allow the press to get this bad.

One argument is that the community isn't really responsible for or capable of making a fun game. That's why having a good game designer in charge is so important, and why keeping changes that make not survive in release under wraps is important. I'm not sure if I agree with this perspective, but for whatever reason, I'm one part curious and three parts turned off by the idea of WAR at this point.

Any thoughts?
