Hey my name is Michael Wetherill, I am a game programming student at the university of advancing technology. I love to be the person people ask for questions and I try to know all the answers. My goal currently is to begin networking in the industry and have begun to build up some contacts.

I don't plan on staying just a programmer in the industry. I have picked up a lot of project management skills and I am working to broaden my knowledge outside of software development. I am learning the concepts of Level design and I love to take every chance I can to learn from others about 3D modeling, Sound, Animation, and all other aspects of making a game.

I currently am working on starting a game project for the summer. It is a 3D racer that will be written in XNA. I will personally be the lead designer and producer. The skill sets of a programmer, being able to plan ahead and problem solve, along with my love to teach others and lead a group I feel I can be a great designer.

I believe that for a designer it is critical to know programming to make everything run smooth. Watching other projects I can see the problem of communication between programmers and artists, where the artist does not understand the restrictions of the game programming and the programmer has trouble conveying the information. Understanding programming allows you to bridge the gap between them.

I love public speaking, meeting new people is always fun. I also enjoy solving the problems of others and motivating them to perform at their best. I see a bright future for me in the industry and hope to continuously advance my career for a long time.
