Aloha!
I wanted to let the community know I am willing to help out with the ECA in whatever way I can. I guess I should provide a little information about myself. I am a lifelong gamer first and foremost. I started gaming at about the age of five. It has been my hobby and passion ever since. I am also very politically active by nature. I have been involved in political organizations since middle school. I am a very proactive person and I believe "change starts with you". It is really my mantra.
As an undergrad and graduate student I took over student government organizations and rewrote campus constitutions, bylaws, budgets and some charters as well as established many specific groups for students. I was president and chairman of dozens of organizations, committees and groups throughout my college years. I was a key player in the establishment of a State wide student government coalition as well as a caucus and the addition of a student Regent position for the State university system.
I was a well known reformer and staunch advocate for student rights. I traveled around the State organizing students and energizing student groups. I even traveled to other States on occasion to help student leaders in those areas when asked to assist.
Additionally I sat on the board of several none university community organizations and helped out at the State legislature. I also traveled to different universities mainly in Asia to teach about distance learning, global modeling and the Internet from time to time.
I was also in the military for nearly a decade. I was an infantryman & forward observer for several years. My last few years in the military were spent in the public affairs arena.
After leaving grad school I moved to Japan. Sadly enough I do not do the local language and have very long work hours. I work six and sometimes seven days a week. I only started trying to schedule a day off a little over a year ago due to health and family negligence issues.
I hold a few undergrad degrees and in grad school I specialized in global modeling (think game theory & simulations) in a political science department.
Currently I own a very, very small company and live in the heart of Silicon Valley Japan. I am married and have a couple kids. The age range of my kids is four (4) to 21 for what it is worth. Sadly enough I still don’t do the local language and probably never will due to the inefficiency of doing so. So I pay people to do it for me or simply have my wife deal with it.
Consequently my political activity dropped effectively to zero and has been at such a level for about the past decade. I guess my only activist activities for the past few years has been paying for and run several domains for game mod projects, clans and gamer forums for a few thousand members. I wish to change this situation hence joining this forum. I guess that is more than enough information about me.
