Ok, here's the background.
I haven't had a very decent running computer for the last year, having video problems.
This past weekend, on a lark, I decided to pull out an old video card and see if that would now work.
Lucky me, things seem to be running fairly decent.
So, I got around to reloading Second Life (the other video card wouldn't work with directX fully active, so I couldn't play games and the like)..

While wandering around a wee tad, my sore arm/shoulder (the one I use with the rollerball and arrow keys) began hurting from prolonged use.

I then suddenly popped up with the idea in my head:
I have an xbox 360 controller.
I have the plug 'n charge cord that connects to the USB port.

I took a wild shot and plugged it in. After a little while, the drivers installed. OOOoooooo.... now I have a joypad for the PC... with cord.

Of course, it doesn't look like the joypad works with SL. But that's ok. I have a joypad!

Anyway, a little research produced the Wireless Gaming Receiver so that I could use the joypad wireless. Haven't got it yet, but I'm going to.

Now here's a stupid question. I can obviously use the WGR with the joypad to play wirelessly on the PC. But the potential for the joypad to run low on battery life is there, just as it is with the Xbox 360. With the xbox 360, I can quickly plug in the charger and keep playing. But, with the PC, do I have to unplug the WGR while I use the plug 'n charge cord or can they remain connected at the same time? I mean, no conflict or anything along those lines?

I know it would only take a few seconds to plug and unplug. Still, it would be nice not to have to repeatedly unplug and later plug back in the WGR.

Oh, and is there a keymapper for the 360 controller when using it for the PC? If SL doesn't use joypads/sticks naturally, it would be nice to be able to program even basic commands (movement, inventory, etc) for use with the controller.
