Yes, I am Teh Mommy. I'm willing to bet I'm a wee bit older than the rest of you. The very first computer game I ever played was a Scott Adams text adventure game (on a Radio Shack TRS 80). I had a Pong game, then in my late teens upgraded to an Atari 2600...around 1979. We've owned nearly every gaming system that's ever come out. No PS3 or Xbox 360 (yet), but have just bought my youngest a Wii.
I have 3 kids, ranging in age from 24 to 13; the oldest and youngest are fervent gamers. My oldest tipped me off to the GP site - I've been lurking for quite some time, but just now began posting. I am a responsible parent who resents any attempt on the behalf of the government (or zealot attorneys who shall remain nameless) to legislate how I parent.
I love gaming, and always have, even if I don't have much time to play. As a result, I only have 29 stars in Super Mario Galaxy (we've had the darn game a month, and I'm the only one in the house who hasn't beaten the silly thing) and am hopelessly lost in the Medical Pavillion in Bioshock. I've also recently discovered that my short game sucks just as badly in Wii Golf as it does in real life.
Mind if I hang around and remind you all occasionally that your room needs to be cleaned and to eat your broccoli? Oh, and watch your language.
