Greetings to all.
I'm a 23 year-old writer from Manila, Philippines - that far-flung archipelago in the Southeast Asian rim that's jut betwen Japan, China, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, and India. Our top exports include minerals deposits, farm produce, Overseas workers, animators, and top-notch middleweight boxers.
Some of you may already have seen me trolling the Lyndon LaRouche thread. But for the rest of the guys here who haven't heard of me yet, I'm happy to now be a member of the GamePolitics forums.
As you can assume, I'm an avid gamer with a curiosity for the political implications of my said hobby. Other than this, though, I'm also quite and anime and firearms geek - expect plenty of references to either to be apparent in my thread posts. That crazy-looking gal I'm using as an avatar is Konata Izumi from the anime series "Lucky Star." Other anime interested include Gundam, GITS, Shakugan no Shana, Kamichu!, Ichigo Mashimaro, Black Lagoon, Yugo the Negotiator, Rescue Wings, and a ton of other titles that I'll probably be blurting out in the near future.
Outside this, I also do a little bit of reading into history and Catholic theology, though I claim no expertise in either. They're just topics I don't mind getting into come discussion time. Books-wise, I'm sad to say I'm not too keen on high-profile authors like Tolkien, Gaiman, or Rowling. I do, however, enjoy reading manga, world history books, martial arts manuals, and military training manuals.
On the gaming side, I'm a fan of FPS, fighting games (just Tekken - I happen to be a kickass Lei Wulong and Dragunov user), JRPGs, and the Armored Core series. I honestly think that Final Fantasy franchise is obscenely overrated, and that Konami should come up with a proper sequel to Suikoden. Preferably on th PlayStation 2.
Glad to meet 'cha - I hope my stay provides for a somewhat different perspective on gaming politics.
