I need serious help, and this is really the only place I know to ask.
My computer's borked. My entire c: partition has become unresponsive to pretty much everything. Booting up Windows? Automatic shut down, restart. Booting up restore partition? Becomes unresponsive while checking the c: partition. Mounting c: and trying to access it in Ubuntu? Locks everything up.
Unfortunately, c: is where my Windows is installed. And my computer didn't come with a Windows install CD. So I can't reinstall Windows (not that I'm sure it'd help...).
Does anyone know of anything to do about that? Any way of perhaps running a disk check or something like that through Ubuntu? (thank goodness I actually went and made a real install of it) Anything? At all?
I really hope I don't have to go out and get a brand new hard drive... And Windows again...
