This will probably make your Wii a bit faster on the intarwebs. Note that you should not try to do this if your internet connection is really slow to begin with (DAILUP! Or in Zippy's case: satellite!).
Click Wii and go to Wii Settings. Select Internet (this is on page 2).Click Connection Settings, and then connection 1 (as this will probably be the only connection you have set up). Select Change Settings. Click the left arrow so MTU Value shows up. Change this value to 1500. By default it's 0, which kinda means "whatever the router wants". That's not very good, because the router doesn't really know what it wants. 1500 is what you'd generally want for a broadband connection. Don't try out anything higher or lower than this. It won't help at all. Save this ****.
This should technically make your Wii load most things faster, as I've noticed it phones home when you enter a channel. And of course your updates will come in a bit faster ^_^
