OK! So my computer has been acting up lately. Various applications are crashing upon startup, and there seems to be an odd pattern.
The first app I noticed was AIM. The program would launch and appear to be normal. Once I attempted to open a new IM window, the program crashed and provided me with a lovely error.
Where the error points me to the location of the error log, "The following files will be included in this report:"
C:\DOCUME~1\Dan\LOCALS~1\Temp\4ec6_appcompat.txt
This is how it should be. So I go to my Temp folder to read the log, but there's no log there.
I go to open my Services panel to make sure I still have error logging activated, but THAT crashes. What's crashing is the Windows Help Viewer, I can't read any e-books either because of this.
IE crashes, Outlook crashes. I don't know what else, but I'm sure there's new things to find out.
I'll say this much that AIM was working fine last night until about midnight when all this bull**** started happening. I lost Outlook second, and it's just been downhill from there.
Please don't tell me I have to reinstall Windows again!
