So, it became apparent that the earthquake did more damage than I thought (or maybe the power outage...). Yesterday I was not able to boot into windows. I tried loading last known good config. No good, several critical files missing. I take a look, the RAM is slightly unseated, so I seat it. Still have problems, try doing a repair install of windows, and now it turns out my slipstreamed sp2 disk didn't come out all that well, several files have to be skipped and setup can't even finish. So here I am, unable to boot into safe mode, my original copy of windows destroyed (not the key and the authenticithingy, I keep the keys to everything from battlefield 1942 to quake 3 arena to zoo tycoon2 well orginized and archived in several places).

Also, unbunto, bless it's heart, I only bothered to make a boot disk thingy of it for 64 bit, and I suppose that's why it's not able to access my NTFS partitions. I dunno. Either way, my hope is that I can find a magazine with a linux cd today, so I can boot and burn another slipstream disk based on the iso (lets hope I didn't delete that!) and this time at a slower speed....

Which leads me into another rant, in my time burning audio cds and home movie dvds, it seems like I always get coasters if I don't burn at about half speed. Why is that? Wrong program? I dunno, but I can't help but feel it's that weak-ass pata interface.
