This is a kind of hackathon for video game developers. GitHub announced the launch of its own Game Off festival.

The difference between Game Off and all others is its duration. Most of them last from 24 to 72 hours. Game Off participants will get a whole November to realize their ideas. Games must be based on the Friv 2 theme, which will be announced November 1, 2018 at 13:37 PDT (Pacific daylight time zone).

As usual, participants are encouraged to use open engines, libraries and tools, but their choice is not limited. You can use absolutely any technology, because gaming is an excellent opportunity to experiment with something new.

This year, the competition will be held at itch.io - an open area for indie game developers. Moreover, the participants will themselves evaluate the proposed solutions this time.
