I started using an n52 many many years ago. couldn't imagine playing any game without it. Everything right where it needs to be. If you have never tried a gamepad and I don't mean a controller and you are serious about gaming you need to try it. I also use a razer naga. I only touch the keyboard to type in chat. Comfort is the key.
I prefer gamepad for any game that isn't multiplayer competitive. I use an xbox 360 controller with a very advanced pinnacle profile to quest in ESO, but it's still quite clunky due to keyboard and mouse emulation. I would really appreciate native gamepad controls.
I don't use a "traditional" gamepad, though I do use an Xbox360 controller for various action games on PC. For MMOs, I use to Buy Elder Scrolls Online Gold the Logitech G13 which is kinda like a keyboard and kinda like a stationary gamepad. I like the analog stick for moving around and the layout just fits my hand really well.
The PC is hooked up to a big plasma on the wall and I bought one of those reclining leather uber comfortable chairs to slob in, made a nicely shaped lap desk out of a piece of timber and velcro'd the keyboard to it and stuck a mouse mat on it with double sided sticky tape.
Keyboard, no contest. I've been playing PC and console games for quite a while, but there is just more customization with keyboard and mouse, and I originally started with PC games, so it also feels more natural to me. There are a few games that I prefer playing with a controller, but the majority of my PC games I will use keyboard and mouse.
Logitech G19 Keyboard, Logitech G13 Gameboard, Cyborg M.M.O.7 Mouse, hands down much faster and more responsive than a controller, multiple profiles, able to switch build/setup on the fly, 102 G Keys (34 x 3 banks) custom set just how I want it, colour coded to each of my characters, and not just in this game....
Maybe because a mouse pointer can stop on a pixel while the thumb sticks need to be compensated with something called skill. I just feel the handheld controller is more immersive because it doesn't glue you for Cheap Elder Scrolls Online Gold to a desk and movement with the analog sticks feels more natural. Your hand has more precision than your thumb, likely because the hand only has to stop moving while the thumb has to recenter the stick. Doesn't matter, especially in a game with auto lock and hit detection from across the room.
