no question.The game was revolutionary for its time, as if I needed to tell you that.In a world full of spaceships firing dots at one another, and little bars knocking dots back and forth between them, Pac-Man asserted himself in a major way and started eating those dots.And by the hundreds.In an important fashion, Pac-Man also redefined the way designers presented video FIFA games.It's hard to call FIFA games like Space Invaders or Defender "realistic," but the graphics were intended to represent objects that were easily identifiable, even if there was no direct way to call spaceships and aliens real items.Pac-Man, however, was quite different.Creator Toru Iwatani made the game a maze; a jumble of shapes inhabited by even more oblong shapes which ambled around a fixed but completely realized world.Going off the edge of the map merely warped you to the other side.There was no real story involved just eat everything in sight and   avoid the ghost-monsters (some call them "ghosts," and others call them "monsters," but everyone knows that the correct name is "ghost-monsters," as laid down by Marty Ingels in the classic Hanna-Barbera animation).So, we've basically established that Pac-Man was groundbreaking for its time, but what about now? Okay, maybe it's influenced a lot of later FIFA games, but when I've got me some Saint's Row to work on, why should I be bothering with a game that's two decades old, no matter how influential?Well, for one thing, it sometimes seems like it's easier to play Live Arcade FIFA games than real 360 FIFA games, especially when I don't have huge chunks of time on my hands.If things are running nose-to-the-grindstone, it's quite a bit easier to visit my friends from the 80's than it is to play a round of Dead Rising, stirring though it might be.Of course, as we all know, the only quick way to save the game in Dead Rising is to die, so that makes short play sessions a bit impractical.And I do have to continue my dominance of the Friends Leaderboard.I may not excel at every single Live game out there, but if there's one thing I can apparently be confident in, it's that my Pac-Man skills are the envy of every one of my Xbox friends.And that's certainly something.Last, but not least, there's Billy Mitchell to consider.This is the guy who owns the Pac-Man world record: The perfect score.3,333,360 points.I've only got about three million or so to go before I get there.That, of course, would be the final Achievement.The one elusive one I just can't get.Curse you, Billy! You and your smugly-coiffed mullet.So, to summarize, playing Pac-Man is a good way to pass short spurts of time, addictive, and lets you experience a piece of video game history.Of course, the last, and most important aspect of playing Pac-Man on the Xbox Live Arcade we haven't brought up yet.http://www.safefifa16coins.com
