I thought the ECA was supposed to represent gamers and stand up for them, not collude with the gaming bloggers who have declared us dead and wish to take our culture from us. Gamers as a whole have dealt with negative stigmas for all their lives.

Why is the ECA not standing up for gamers? We are tired of being called misogynists or racists, or ISIS, etc. The ECA stood up to Jack Thompson when they realized that their industry was under attack. Games don't cause people to kill, and they don't cause people to be racist, misogynistic, etc.

When discussion was being shut down everywhere on the web, why did the ECA not provide a safe space for gamers to organize and advocate for their culture and their rights?

GamerGate is not going away. The people attacking and shaming gamers do not even give a shit about video games. They are just leeches trying to profit off of something they openly ridicule.
