The US Supreme Court struck down a California law Monday banning the sale of violent video games to minors. The court voted 7-2 against the law, with justices Clarence Thomas and Stephen Breyer dissenting, FOX News Channel reported.
Jennifer Mercurio, vice president of the ECA, said the organization was "thrilled" by the verdict, which she said was "a long time coming." "That being said, there will probably be one or two legislators who attempt to test these new parameters, and the ECA will continue to fight for the rights of entertainment consumers," she said in a statement.
