Sony may be able to continue shipping PlayStation 3 consoles into Europe, despite the injunction brought against it by LG says GameIndustry.biz. While LG managed to bar European PS3 shipments due to a patent claim over Blu-Ray technology, it might be able to slip shipments into European countries due to "European patent fragmentation."
What that term means is that Sony might be able to slip product in simply by changing its "port of entry." currently its port of entry for PS3 shipments are Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Apparently, LG's claim only affects the Netherlands and not all of Europe. So, at least in theory - Sony could get by the injunction by changing ports. Naturally, if Sony did this, LG has the option of going back to court.
