Konami announced this week that it will completely take over Hudson Soft. The company owns 50 percent of the Bomberman series creator and plans to buy the rest of the remaining shares. Hudson Soft will be delisted from the stock market on March 29 and on April 1, Konami will buy 2.5 million shares. Hudson Soft CEO Michihiro Ishizuka will step down on March 31. He will be replaced by Konami Digital's Kazuhiko Uehara.
Konami is buying the company outright to take advantage of its online and social gaming development acumen. Hudson regularly releases games on various digital distribution channels including PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, iOS, smart phones, and via Facebook.
