A hacker has managed to break into Frogster's Runes of Magic servers and steal some old user data. The user, "augustus87," demands changes to the free-to-play fantasy MMO game and the way Frogster treats players and employees, or he will slowly release the user data he stole.
The user claims that he has managed to steal the account names and passwords of 3.5 million users.
Frogster counters that the information is "outdated log-in data from 2007" but adds that it is taking the threats very seriously. The company is calling the theft a "serious criminal offense" and have contacted German law enforcement.
The hackers has a list of demands that it wants Frogster to comply with including fixing problems with cheats, treating its employees better, and end the practice of locking down and deleting forum threads.
