George Hotz, the man best known for jailbreaking the iPhone and cracking the security on the PS3, tells the BBC that Sony's recent court action against him, and hacking group fail0verflow, will fail. Hotz told BBC News that he was "comfortable" that the action would not succeed.
"I am a firm believer in digital rights," Hotz said. "I would expect a company that prides itself on intellectual property to be well versed in the provisions of the law, so I am disappointed in Sony's current action."
"I have spoken with legal counsel and I feel comfortable that Sony's action against me doesn't have any basis," he added.
Hotz is named in the lawsuit along with more than 100 people associated with a hacking group known as fail0verflow - some named and other listed as "John Doe" defendants because Sony cannot identify them.
