Mojang's online building game has finally passed the one-millionth sales mark. This is an impressive accomplishment if you consider that the game is not even out of the beta phase yet. The game developed by one man (Markus Persson) has managed to rake in approximately $13 million to-date as well - mostly on sales of the alpha version of the game.
In December the game went beta. In addition, the game picked up several Game Developers Choice awards nominations this week including the Innovation award, Best Downloadable Game, and Best Debut.
According to a recent post on Persson's blog a full release is planned for 2011: "We've written down major goals that we want to do for Minecraft release, and it looks like the release will happen sometime late this year," he said. "Hopefully we'll be able to set a date soon." Read More
