A new video game development and film production school will open next year in Seattle. The school is a non-profit and will offer certificate and continuing education programs related to digital media, game development, special effects, and film production.
The Academy of Interactive Entertainment will offer its first classes in September of next year. When classes begin, the school will have the capacity to teach 125 students, according to Chris Erhardt, who will run the entire operation. Erhardt is a former (retired) Professor of Game Design and Production of DigiPen Institute of Technology and a seasoned game developer. He has worked on games for companies such as Infocom, Activision, Electronic Arts, Infogrames, and Ocean Software of America.
