In either a well-planned PR move or a serious attempt at protecting it's trademarks, Nintendo has put in a claim to patent the phrase "It's on like Donkey Kong." The phrase is usually used to acknowledge a big competition.

Nintendo filed the request with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last week. According to a release, Nintendo said "In addition to Nintendo's use, it has been used in popular music, television and film over the years, pointing to Donkey Kong's status as an enduring pop-culture icon and video game superstar."
