While you probably already know this, new data from Pew Research confirms the fact that mobile phones, and tablet PCs, and e-Readers are popular in America. The study is more about people accessing the Internet with these devices, compared to using laptops and desktop PCs. More importantly, data gathered as part of Pew's Internet & American Life Project report found that the most popular device for accessing the Internet is the mobile phone.
The report, which gathered data by surveying 3,001 American adults about the most popular applications and devices in the Internet age, found that cell phones were the most popular device. The survey found that 85 percent of Americans over the age of 18 owned a mobile phone, and 96 percent age 18 - 29 owned a cell phone of some kind.
Three-quarters of respondents said they own a desktop or laptop computer, up from 30 to 52 percent when the study was conducted in 2006. Read More
