A UK law firm accused of bullying suspected, and often innocent, file sharers is the latest website to fall victim to denial of service attacks instituted by the collective Internet mob known as anonymous and/or 4chan.
Previous assaults were undertaken against Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), while a similar attack on the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) website was apparently repelled, according to a story on Torrent Freak.
The group’s next target was the website of ACS Law Solicitors, a firm we mentioned last month and who “specialises in assisting intellectual property rights holders exploit and enforce their rights globally.” While the initial attack was successful, the assailants appeared to back off and the website came back online.
