Movies based on games have a shoddy reputation. Few have ever lived up to the experience we remember playing the games. Even with its beautiful graphics, the Final Fantasy movie still left many wanting. So it is interesting to see a trailer on YouTube for a fan-made movie set in the Half-Life universe.
Entitled I'm the Freeman, the short trailer hints at a much larger project in the works. It was created by Marco Spitoni, who works for WETA, the company that did the special effects for the Lord of the Rings movies and District 9.
According to Spitoni:
“I’ve always been in love with the PC game ‘Half-Life,’ so I decided to work out a project that would have been a trailer for a hypothetic feature film of Half-life. The whole thing is pretty faithful to the game and based on HL2.”
Cee-Gee.net is listed in the trailer, but there is nothing yet on the web site to follow.
