A small Ottawa-based technology may be well known in U.S. sporting venues soon, thanks to its innovative technology that lets stadiums full of people play massive multiplayer games. CrowdWave, who refined its video-game technology at Ottawa 67's junior hockey games, has reached agreements with multiple American stadiums. The company expects to sign up at least four more stadiums by the fall.

The agreements will allow fans of the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards, as well as the National Hockey League's Washington Capitals, to play the company's games during the upcoming season. Mark Edwards, president of CrowdWave, said the Cleveland Cavaliers, who tested the company's technology during their playoff run last year, are also expected to become clients for the 2010-11 NBA season.
