Google Chrome's app store is getting ready for a grand opening in October and at GDC Europe the company showed off some of the games that will be available later this year, along with how the system will work. Google said that the launch of its Chrome app store in October would offer a "proper showcase for browser-based games," and solve a lot of the problems that developers face with web-based gaming like how to simplify the discovery of new titles and streamlining the monetization process.
No doubt music to the ears of developers who would like nothing better to strike it rich (or make even a little cash) off their web-based creations. Other planned features are no-brainers, like product descriptions, customer ratings and support for such languages including HTML5, Flash, and C++.
Among the games that will be available through the Chrome store at launch are Lemmings, Quake II, Plants vs Zombies and Lego Star Wars. Read More
