Well as it turns out, all's well that ends well! The follow-up to this story is that Kevin Butler has received a very sincere and prompt apology from the television station with a care package that included Milo, Marmite and a plaque signifying that the PlayStation 3 is the official game console of Aotearoa (which means New Zealand).
Hailing from New Zealand, you could see why this is very much of interest to me because I'm not sure SoE New Zealand know about it yet and I'm pretty sure most NZ gamers don't either.
