Word on the street is that Kinect will costing a $149 - at least according to retailers like Best Buy, GameStop and even Microsoft's own online store. Yes you read that price correctly and it certainly seems pretty steep for a device that only has around 12 -16 titles at launch - most of which are casual or sports titles. Analyst have said that Microsoft's camera-based motion sensor device is too gimmicky and will have a hard time being adapted by more hardcore gamers because it doesn't support any of the platforms big games and has no way of providing proper input for popular genres like first-person shooters.
In my opinion Kinect isn't worth it at that price point, and since it doesn't support the kinds of games I would play - like Call of Duty Black Ops, Medal of Honor and a hundred other shooters, it has no use in my household.
