A Laurel County, Kentucky teen, charged with killing his 15-year-old cousin in April, has been indicted by a grand jury this week. According to police reports the 15-year-old Travis Hammack shot Craig Hammack back in April after a heated argument over an unnamed videogame. The grand jury indicted Travis Hammack for murder and tampering with physical evidence. He will be tried as an adult.
At the time, the victim's mother, Margaret Hammack, had told local TV station Channel 27 that the boys were "best friends" and that the shooting was "an accident." She said then that she didn't want any charges filed against the boy. Today she sees it differently. She said later that once she got over the initial shock of her son's death she no longer thought the shooting was an accident. The famalies of both the victim and the accused are neighbors.
