Who doesn't love Zombies, right? But when is too much of a good thing just overkill? And what is it with developers and their unnatural attraction to all things zombie these days?
I loved Left 4 Dead, L4D2 and even Dead Rising before that (heck, I played that game so much I practically became a zombie), but zombie mode seems just a little old now. Kinda like the 80s - you know the 80s existed but it's 2010 now, lets move on.
I just finished reading this CNN article about Crackdown 2 and how it features 'zombie-like' mutants that run around and can only be killed by a specific type of weapon. And while I did play Crackdown and kinda enjoyed it, I didn't really get into the game as much as I probably should have. And the 'new' singleplayer content doesn't do much for me either. At least they didn't include an entire game mode dedicated to zombies so I guess it's not all that bad.
I dunno about you but I think 'zombie mode' is kinda detracting a little from what zombies represent. I think zombies are losing their coolness factor because there's just too much of them going around. Surely there must be something else other than 'zombie mode' to keep a game interesting?
