Retro gaming isn't really my thing but I'm keen to know what other gamers do in terms of playing older games. What games do you consider to be 'classics' and why? How often would you typically play a classic game and what games do you play?

There's quite a few ways gamers can get access to some of the classic games these days which doesn't even involve leaving the living room. Xbox Live often highlights some of the oldies but goodies including [I]Pac Man[/I], [I]Xevious[/I] and[I] Defender [/I](some of the older games I've enjoyed playing) which is great but it's not really the same experience as say, hanging out at an arcade.

There's also alot of money in collecting classic games. Rare games have been known to sell for $40,000 or more. But I don't see alot of retro gamers in general gaming forums so perhaps it's a niche area of our gaming community. Do you know anyone that collects classic games or is a huge fan of retro gaming?
