Sony Online Entertainment is bringing a little Japanese indie game culture to North America with the help of indie videogame developer Rockin’ Android. The company better known for EverQuest announced a collaborative effort to localize, produce and release doujin (Japanese-style indie video games) to the PlayStation Network. The three titles scheduled for simultaneous release in May 2010 are Gundemonium Recollection, GundeadliGne, Hitogata Happa. They will fall under the collective banner of "The Gundemonium Collection."
All three games are "bullet hell shooters" that feature side scrolling action anime characters, a fast pace, special attacks, unpredictable enemies, and a hailstorm of bullets, lasers, shrapnel and bombs. Basically these games offer the kind of on-screen chaos that earns them the genre designation "bullet hell shooters."
