The Sims and Spore creator Will Wright is adding television to his list of lofty endeavors, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Wright has inked a development deal with the Science Channel to produce programming for the network, though specific details on the show (or shows) were not disclosed.
"I want to take the way he engages an audience in gaming and bring that into a show," Science Channel GM Debbie Myers told HR.
Wright left EA Maxis last year to form Stupid Fun Club, a company that aspires to foster ideas and concepts that "manifest as video games, online environments, toys, storytelling media, and home appliances."
Wright will create series and special for the network that focus on fun science (time travel, different worlds, the future, etc.) and will include an online component and Wrights unique perspective as a videogame designer.
