Sony’s latest firmware update ([URL=http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/04/21/ps3-3-30-system-software-update/]3.30[/URL]) for its PlayStation 3 beefs up some of the console’s trophy attributes and prepares it for 3D gaming, but the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) contained some wording that alarmed [URL=http://www.thinq.co.uk/news/2010/4/22/sony-can-update-ps3-firmware-without-asking/]UK website Thinq[/URL].
A Thinq author actually read through [URL=http://www.scei.co.jp/ps3-eula/ps3_eula_en.html]the whole EULA[/URL], which is dated December 10, 2009, and expressed concern over Section 3, which refers to Services and Updates. The passage is included below:
