You gotta hand it to the ad and marketing teams hired by game publishers/distributors to promote their latest game. They must spend alot of time coming up with ideas for promotional campaigns. Unfortunately, some of those ideas don't always get noticed for positive reasons.
Case in point - as reported by the [URL=http://www.nzherald.co.nz/technology/news/article.cfm?c_id=5&objectid=10639139]New Zealand Herald[/URL], a recent incident of a badly executed marketing campaign for [I]Splinter Cell Conviction[/I] in Auckland, New Zealand had near-by patrons running in fear from a guy toting a gun:
