Blizzard Entertainment has nuked over 320,000 Warcraft III and Diablo II accounts for violations of the publisher’s Battle.net Terms of Use.
Blizzard announced the banning in a forum post and took the time to remind players that, “abuse of unintended mechanics and/or use of third party programs is a violation of the agreement made when signing on to Battle.net.”
First offenders will see their account suspended for 30 days, while repeat offenders are gone permanently. Blizzard also encouraged players to report cheaters using its Hacks Reporting Form.
Don’t bother trying to negotiate with Blizzard if your account was one of those targeted; all account ban decisions are final.
