Sometimes imitation is the sincerest form of oh-my-god-that's-cool. Such is the case with Doctor Horrible's Singalong Game, a complete 8-bit translation of the first act of Joss Whedon's tale of a not-quite-up-and-coming mad scientist in love.
It's actually much more than just an 8-bit version of the musical, though. DoctorOctoroc, in his infinite Rocking Ray wisdom, has re-imagined the Emmy award winning musical short as an oldschool NES RPG, complete with dialog menus, inventory windows and bit-mapped cutscenes.
Only the first act is available for now, but it's more than enough. You can also download the soundtrack for free, as well as Octoroc's first project "8-bit Jesus".
