I know I've thought about it and it's not really a topic that gets alot of discussion. So when I located this article over at Maxim that shows a diagram of what the average game developer earns, I was intrigued.
Entitled 'Why Many Game Developers Drive Ferrari's', the article displays the average salaries of staff that develop video games using a neat little graphic that you can view [URL=http://www.maxim.com/gaming/articles/90016/why-many-game-developers-drive-ferraris.html]here.[/URL]
It is also noted at the bottom of the article that the figures displayed "come straight from the game makers themselves, courtesy of Game Developer Research." I have to admit that I'm a little surprised these details were given so easily but there you go.
