The sources gamers use to purchase games are drastically changing. Since the arrival of digital downloads, it's not always a priority these days to get to the store when a new game is released, especially when you can order from the comfort of your home.

There's definitely something about buying a new game though. I like the idea of unwrapping something new and having the case or box in my hands. Digital downloads just don't have the same appeal because of this. On the flip-side though, I do find that digital downloads are great for DLC because it's quick and easy to get the latest game add-on.

The other numerous outlets that sell games and offer considerable discounts have grown considerably. This will definitely have an impact on how gamers purchase their games. Unless specific retailers are willing to do the same, stores that offer hefty discounts will become more and more popular with gamers.

With the price of games these days, as consumers we are forced to become resourceful at finding ways to save money. If the game plays just fine on your PC, buying a game formatted for another region to save a few bucks suddenly becomes an appealing option.

I've purchased a PC game that was made for a different region before because the price was around 17 dollars cheaper but I'm very fussy with the games I buy. I'd prefer to have the packaging and booklet in a language I can understand but that's just me.
