Apple Inc. on Tuesday said that users of the iPhone and iPod Touch media player have downloaded 1.5 billion programs from the company's online store, signaling demand for the applications is accelerating.
"Gaming applications should become very big business because they are simple to create and very appealing to members of the X and Y generations," said Hal Halpin, president of the Entertainment Consumers Association in Wilton. "It's become ingrained," he said.
