About 5 years ago, i used to work at a gun range, and spent alot of my time practicing handgun shooting, with the intent of one day going into some local competitions. However, family and employment issues prevented me from getting back into it. 5 years on, with new employment and my family matters somewhat stabilzed, Im thinking of getting back into it.

So, any other target shooters out there? If so, what weapons do you recomend and what are the current laws regarding gun ownership and registration?

I wanna make sure I do this right, so on my weekend coming up, gonna be attending a basic handgun training and saftey class and will then begin looking into purchasing a weapon and proper storage for it to keep it safe and out of the way when its not in use.

So, any fellow marksmen out there with some advice on how to get back into the sport properly and safely?
