Maine just legalized gay marriage, being the fifth state to do so. New Hampshire's governor is considering signing a bill into law that would also legalize gay marriage. Congrats to Maine, and here's hoping to New Hampshire.
It is possible there could be a spread into several other New England states. However, Rhode Island will be really hard, since apparently, it has a large percentage of Roman Catholics. Even if it somehow managed to past legislator, the current governor is pretty much guaranteed to veto it, and it would be truly shocking if they managed to get the votes for an overturning of said veto.
It's good to see more states legalize gay marriage, and I can only hope even more will quickly follow. That, and California manages to reinstate it again.
